Facebook is full of back to school pictures. Parents are showing off their first day of school photos. We have a little while before we start back to school. By the time my girls start back to school, kids will already be complaining about what they got in their lunch box. Parents will be looking for back to school lunch ideas that kids will love. This back to school lunch idea is something kids will love and it will bring a big smile to their face.

Bento Box Idea

I look on Pinterest for ideas all the time. I love Pinterest. I find great recipes that my family love, fun crafts and even travel ideas. I see really neat bento box ideas that I would love to make for the kids for their lunch but I will be honest. I am not that mom. I don’t have the time or patience to go through all that. I can make some of the most complicated desserts, but I have never really been able to make the cute Bento Box ideas that I find. What I love about this bento box idea, it is so simple. Even I can do it. It takes very little effort and the kids will think it is cool.

How to make this simple back to school lunch idea bento box

Ingredients

Sandwich – Whatever kind of sandwich your kids love the most. We made a ham and cheese

A circle – We used a small jar. A circle cookie cutter works even better.

A heart cookie cutter – This cookie cutter set has both a circle and a heart, as well as other.

Carrots or something similar for the eye and mouth.

Directions

The first step is simple. Make a sandwich.

Once the sandwich is made, you will need to cut a circle. Make the circle to the far side corner.

Next, you will want to make a heart that is missing its point. Use the heart cookie cutter or freehand cut the top of the heart. Make sure the pointy end hangs off the bread.

Next, assemble the fish. Place the pieces need to each other. I like to use a small piece of carrot for the eye and mouth, but cheese works too.
