Grease your baking dish and pour your fruit mixture in. Top fruit with your cake batter mixture. Don’t worry about your dump cake batter being too high on the pan before cooking, this cake is not going to rise like a traditional cake might.

Pour 2 cups of water into your Instant Pot and lower your filled baking dish onto the trivet. Close your Instant Pot lid and close the steam valve. You need to set your Instant Pot to manual, with high pressure, for 25 minutes. At the end of the cooking cycle, wait for the natural release.

When your Instant Pot Pineapple Cherry Dump Cake is finished, and the natural release cycle is complete, let your cake set for just a few more minutes outside of the Instant Pot. This will allow it to firm up just a bit more before serving.
